Participant: Andrea Webb

My name is Andrea Webb. I am 18 years old. I live in Pittsburgh; I have left the city only a few times. I have visited Washington DC, North Carolina, New York, and Georgia. I am afraid of going out of the country. At first, going out of the country seemed scary but now that time approaches, the thought doesn’t bother me anymore. I am interested in working, shopping and hanging out with my friends. One thing that I can say that is interesting about me is that I am funny; I am a loving friend, smart, giving and caring person. I love to get my hair done, nails and feet, and eyebrows done. Going out of the country I don’t think that this would be a challenge for me. I like to cook and clean. One thing about me I can say that I am a picky eater. I don’t think that food will be my issue in Costa Rica because once I am used to the food I am able to continue eating it. My favorite food is pizza, and I love pasta. I love to play with animals; currently I have a dog named LULU, a turtle named Travis, and a frog named Pappi. I am a senior (12th grade) at City Charter High School. (City Charter High School in a very unique school, Here at City Charter High School we go all year long. At City High we are with the same teachers for 4 years meaning in 9th grade we start out with a staff of teachers, and then stick with the same teachers until we graduate. After graduation I am attending community college (CCAC) in the fall of this year for nursing with an interest in becoming a Surgical Technician. I am going on this trip because I enjoy helping people and I believe I will experience a boat load of fun. I have two main concerns about this trip the first one is the bugs, and the second concern is the heights that will have to overcome. I would like to gain knowledge about Costa Rica such as their culture, the Costa Rican people, and family traditions.
